Replying to my visitors.

I mentioned I wanted to eat more vegetarian food in my previous post and suddenly from one comment I got 3 more. Well to answer you all here, surely it's better to begin to take care of your eating habits than discover later the problems that comes with too much of anything.

My diabetes nurse didn't advised to me anything when it comes to the food section. Why? Do you ask? I practically already know what to eat and what not to eat and still be able to enjoy all sorts of food without being guilty. I make the changes in my food daily intake and have already tried to eat more whole meal products which is still a bit difficult to accept, like whole meal pasta. Despite that I have both in my cup boards so I can eat them in turns. Legumes, yeah...don't like them either but lately I can eat them if they are made in a delicious dish, I also put kidney beans in my minced meat sauce. I'm book marking the site http://allrecipes.com now Melody. THANKS!

I know only one English site with recipes and that is Food Network.
Read on for your question about Gordon Ramsey.

Moni commented that knows that Americans eat more meat than others, to tell you a number:

USA: 145 kilos of meat each person for one year
Europe: 85
kilos of meat each person for one year
Sweden: 75
kilos of meat each person for one year

A lecturer who was talking about meat consumption presented these numbers and I was a bit chocked to see 145 kilos of meat only in USA? No wonder we can't feed the world if most of the grain harvests are becoming animal feeds.

You know what Moni, you tell your husband to cook his own food if he can't eat fish. Make a Waldorf salad but with adding beans. Check my entry here, it's really delicious

Fiona, I have already made success in my eating habits. I began with loosing weight permanently before I knew I had diabetes.
I'm more interested in a site with diabetic recommendations in Chinese food as I already have the western recommendations. Thanks anyway.

I have two books dealing with diabetes, food and how to live a good life and none of them seems directly a good source. My heart is fine, my cholesterol is fine, my condition is fine. All that is bad is my blood sugar is going roller coaster. The highest peak I have is 8 and the lowest is below 4. Lately I have seen the result of my regular exercise, I have now beautiful shapes around my waist! Not much fat on the sides but you can still see that I got some belly left to working with.

About my time and my food studies. LOL...I'm not training myself to be a chef. I study everything about food and meal sciences but not working as a chef so I don't have dictators as lecturers in my classes. It's like a normal class whether the subject is microbiology in food, how to preserve, the dangers with eating certain things and so on. Chemistry, what really happens in food when you get a bad result, like a glueish mashed potatoes. What are the cause?

My last course dealt with different categories in food, we had a meat week, a grain week, a fruit week and vegetables week.

2 Amount of Cheers.

It's nice to hear, Myy. I would like to also know some Chinese food recommendation too. Where can you find it? my problem is that I can't read Chinese. I think that you can use the basic food ingredients and make it "Chinese". :P

we have the same problem here. I can't read. I haven't found one to be honest. so the advice I got from western recommendations I must apply on chinese foods.
